Slippers that are too small squeeze your feet and make them cold; too big and they slip off and become risky on the stairs. Here’s how to find the right size first time.
1. Measure your foot (2 minutes)
- Place a sheet of paper on the floor, against a wall.
- Stand with your heel against the wall.
- Mark the tip of your big toe, then measure in cm.
Ideally do this at the end of the day, when your feet are slightly more swollen, and measure both feet: keep the larger measurement.
2. Understanding double sizes (38/39…)
Many slippers come in double sizes because their soft material adapts to the foot. A 38/39 therefore suits feet that usually take EU 38 or 39. The most reliable guide is the foot length in cm shown in each style’s chart.
3. Each style has its own fit
A high-cut corduroy slipper, an open slider and a moccasin don’t fit the same way. That’s why each product page has its own chart, with a tip: “runs small”, “runs large” or “take your usual size”. All our charts are gathered in our size guide.
4. Between two sizes?
- Do you wear thick socks in your slippers? Size up.
- An all faux-fur style, or one that runs large? Go for the smaller size.
- Faux-fur linings settle a little over time: a slipper that feels slightly snug at first will be perfect after a few days.
5. For kids
Measure your child’s foot the same way, then choose a size whose inner length is slightly longer than their foot. Between two sizes, always go for the larger one: little feet grow fast!
6. Buying as a gift without knowing the size
Discreetly measure the insole of one of their shoes, or ask someone close to them for their usual size. Open styles like our Nuage sliders are more forgiving of a small mistake. And if in doubt, you have 30 days to return the item.
